About

I am a mother of two children, a wife and a doctor. My family and I have traveled across continents to establish a new home in the mountains of a much beloved African nation.

This is my seventh trip to the African continent. We met in South Sudan where God wove our stories together. We have both served in different contexts in Africa, single, married, with one child. Now we return with two children.

Most recently, we lived 2 years in a refugee camp with my brave young son. Some stories from those years I have included on this site.

In order to protect privacy of those involved in these stories, names may have been changed and some other identifying details excluded. My promise to you as my reader, is that I will not embellish details, but I will protect those involved in these stories through changing some non-essential details.

Our Names

When writing about my family you will discover I will write of my husband as Joshua, because he has led our family strong and courageously into this next season.
My son will be referred to as Mr. Brave, because he has bravely come on so many adventures across seas and nations.
My daughter, who is wild and beautiful will be Ariella Joy or AJ.
My birth name means Hope. Since a child I have felt the call to bring Hope to the nations so in this name I will sign off.

We have chosen to keep our location anonymous to protect the service we feel called to do in this nation.

I want you to be able to trust me as I share of what I see and experience. My aim through writing these stories and reflections is to bring glory to Him who is the writer of every story and is weaving all stories together in His Son, Jesus Christ.

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
    yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
12 I will ponder all your work,
    and meditate on your mighty deeds.
13 Your way, O God, is holy.
    What god is great like our God?
14 You are the God who works wonders;
    you have made known your might among the peoples.

I welcome you in to remember what He has done, to ponder and meditate on His promises and to follow His Ways with me.
